Our Story

Roller Services was born from three decades of hands-on engineering expertise and a family legacy of precision manufacturing.

Phil Vernon began his career as a mechanical engineering apprentice, training as a precision turner in his father's engineering company. For years, father and son worked side by side, Phil absorbing not just the technical skills of the trade, but the values that defined his father's approach: precision, reliability, and doing right by customers.

Three Decades of Precision, One Family Legacy

Phil Vernon didn't plan to revolutionize the roller industry. He just wanted to solve a problem.

After completing a mechanical engineering apprenticeship as a precision turner, Phil spent years working alongside his father in the family engineering business. Those weren't just years of learning how to manufacture—they were years of learning how to think about manufacturing. How to spot when standard solutions weren't good enough. How to build relationships, not just products.

When his father retired, Phil could have simply carried on. But after 30+ years watching manufacturers struggle with the same roller problems—long OEM lead times, distributor markups, lack of technical expertise—he saw an opportunity.

In 2011, Roller Services was born.

We started with a simple premise: UK manufacturers deserved better. Better turnaround times. Better technical support. Better value. Rollers engineered to exact specifications, not pulled from a catalog and marked up.

From our Leeds facility, we've grown into something Phil's father would be proud of. We're now recognized as the UK's leading experts in precision-cured rubberized rollers. Food processors call us when they need solutions. Furniture manufacturers trust us with their high-speed edgebanding operations.

But what makes Phil proudest isn't just the technical capability. It's that customers call us to help develop new processes and equipment. They trust our expertise because we've earned it, one precisely-engineered roller at a time.

That's the legacy Phil learned from his father: do the work right, treat people fairly, and expertise will follow.

Thirty years of experience. One family tradition. That's Roller Services
